Vincent M. Wales grew up in the small town of Brockway in northwestern Pennsylvania. He earned his degree in English under the Writing Option at the Pennsylvania State University, where he was a founding member of the Penn State Writers Club and head of its Fiction Writers Group.
During a decade in the suburbs of Philadelphia, he started the Polyamory Awareness and Acceptance Ribbon Campaign, which is devoted to de-stigmatizing the lifestyle of responsible non-monogamy. While a resident of Utah, he founded the Freethought Society of Northern Utah, an organization dedicated to supporting First Amendment rights and presenting the positive aspects of lifestyles based on reason rather than faith, among other things. He teaches a variety of fiction writing courses in the greater Sacramento area, is a 3-topic volunteer artisan at AllExperts.com, and a former guide for The Mining Company (now known as About.com). He is also a Web veteran, having a personal webpage online since February of 1996. He has served on the Board of Directors of Northern California Publishers & Authors and Atheists & Other Freethinkers. He currently lives in Sacramento, California. |
